1 Hour Teacher PD
This introductory, Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)-compliant professional development session equips educators with foundational knowledge and practical strategies for supporting neurodiverse students and those experiencing mental health challenges. This 1-hour seminar blends evidence-based insights with real classroom scenarios. Teachers will learn how to recognise common signs of neurodivergence and emotional dysregulation, shift from behaviour-focused to needs-based responses, and implement low-cost, high-impact classroom strategies that foster engagement and inclusion. All participants receive a Certificate of Completion suitable for their QCT CPD records. This session is ideal for twilight PD slots, pupil-free days, or scheduled staff development hours ($550) important details like value, length of service, and why it’s unique.
2 Hour Teacher PD
This extended, QCT-compliant professional development session offers a deeper, more interactive exploration of neurodiversity and student mental health in the classroom. Building on the foundational content of our 1-hour session, this 2-hour format allows for richer discussion, collaborative problem-solving, and active engagement with real-world classroom scenarios. This session guides teachers through detailed case examples reflecting common neurodivergent and emotionally vulnerable student profiles (e.g., ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma impact). Participants engage in group analysis, scenario-based reflection, and strategy planning for their own classrooms. The workshop blends evidence-based research with lived experience, helping educators develop tailored, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming approaches. Teachers leave with practical tools they can implement immediately and a Certificate of Completion suitable for QCT CPD logs ($1200)
Fully Customizable Seminars
NeuroKind offers fully customisable professional development sessions built in direct consultation with school leaders and staff. We work closely with principals, deputy principals, heads of wellbeing, and learning support teams to identify priority areas—whether that’s de-escalation strategies, trauma-informed practice, understanding specific neurotypes (e.g., ADHD, autism, PDA), or strengthening whole-school mental health support systems. Sessions can range from short briefings to half-day or full-day workshops, with flexible delivery formats to suit pupil-free days, twilight sessions, or term planning times. All training remains QCT-compliant, grounded in peer-reviewed research. Schools receive a detailed session summary, clear learning outcomes, and tailored Certificates of Completion for teachers’ CPD records. This option is ideal for schools wanting solutions that reflect their unique student cohort and staff capability goals (POA)
NeuroKind seminars and professional development sessions are delivered by two experienced facilitators: Dr. Dominique Hannah and Hannah McLaughlin. While both facilitators lead sessions across Queensland, all content is developed and overseen by Dr. Hannah—a psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience in child, adolescent, and family mental health. This ensures that every seminar reflects the latest in evidence-based practice, is trauma-informed, and remains grounded in both lived experience and clinical insight.
